This last December, (on my birthday outing) Ann and I went to a Craft Show, that wasn't very exciting. We got there perhaps a half an hour before it was closing, but we did see someone selling these post it note message thingys. Anyhow, being "two crafty cousins" we knew we could replicate it. It was basically one of those plastic 5X7 photo frames that can stand up on their own. You basically make a background and slide it in and put the whole thing upside down so that it sits up at an angle. I know a tutorial would be better, but yeah...sorry that isn't going to happen. Maybe Ann will do one. She did this same craft for her card swap group. They swap cards and do a make and take.
I wrapped some ribbon around the top and slapped a three layered flower on it and then a post it not pad. I made four in 15 mins. Sweet!

Paper- Making Memories Chelsea's Place

This layout probably won't make sense to you cause well.... its just for me. It is layout two for the 52 in 2010 Class. Check them out. But basically it is for New years resolutions and I chose my most important one that basically deals with two of my resolutions, that is save money and Stay on budget. So "Save on Target" is sort of a Star Wars thing... "Stay on Target." you know... when Luke is in his fighter jet and and is going to drop a blast to blow up the death star. I seriously had this conversation with my husband last night... he brought up how Avatar (the new movie) was like the Wookies, in tune with nature. And then I teased him saying that it all comes down to Star Wars. And then we laughed to say "Everything we learned in life, we learned from Star Wars." I found it especially funny that I (yes, I like Star Wars... but dh LOVES Star Wars) that I had a reference to Star Wars in my scrapbooking. My journaling is a tag that can be pulled out behind the picture. So along with the theme for this layout, there was a challenge to do some sewing on it too. Caught that around the green patterned paper. Gees. I have been saving this Star Wars Scrapbooking paper that I got from Simple Pleasures in Colorado Springs in August for a layout to do for my oldest son. Wouldn't it have been funny to use Star Wars Paper for this? So cheesy, I know. Funny, but cheesy.

First layout of the Year.

I decided to do the 52 in 10 challenge. Mostly because I thought it would be easy to have someone telling me what would be exciting to do. Each week given a topic and go. Hoping for mostly one page layouts for making things simpler but this was a journaling heavy one so the second page was easy. I like to write (not necessarily by hand) so journaling isn't too hard.

The Paper is from Making Memories Chelsea's Place. And there are various bling from Little Yellow Bicycle and Prima Flowers. I used my MM Slice to cut out the words and numbers.
Gees sorry it is such a dark picture.

Heather's 29-30

So here is from my third child's end of year preschool picnic. I forget the paper's name. But it is a CTMH Layout. From the Cherish book. I find them easy to resort to when I like to scrapbook swiftly. I think the papers really made this layout bright and I even popped some of the pictures to add some dimension too.
Another CTMH Swift Layout from the Cherish book. I used my Slice Machine to cut out and do paper piecing.

So happy to have gotten some done.

Heather's Layouts #27-28

I did a duplicate of this one so I could send it to my MIL. So I have now idea what this paper is called. I got in the clearance isle at JoAnn's. And I scraplifted the layout from a magazine. Whoo Hoo Branching out!

Heather's Layouts # 25-26

Layout # 25 is a CTMH Layout, done a year ago and I just slapped on some photos from the recent father/son Campout. All products are CTMH on this one since it was a Club Layout. The paper is CTMH Sarsaparilla.

Here is a scraplift. I am not too happy with the background paper, but the rest I like, though I think I should have done the black swirls in dark Brown. The Paper is Making Memories Chelsea's Place and all the cut outs were done on my slice. And some Basic Grey Buttons.

Heather's Layouts 22-24

Here is one I finished this morning from Last nights CTMH Club Night. Pictures from a 2003 trip to CA.
This is paper I got from Michaels in the bins. We went to Buffalo Bills Grave and they had a place where you can dress up. So I had the pictures done in Sepia to give it that old time feel.
Here is my challenge project that Ann and I were to do. Requirement was to have at least one big circle. So here is mine. And look, it isn't a CTMH Formula layout. I am starting to branch out a little. There will be three more layouts from the Buffalo Bill adventure.

Layout # 15- "Yeah It's That Good. Not sure what paper this is, but the stickies are from CTMH, Rough N' Tumble and some from Ann's stash.

Layout # 16- "Home Sweet Home" Paper is from the racks at Michael's.

Layout # 17- American Sparkle (1) I made one of these for my mom. Paper is CTMH-Blue Ribbon. Title Cut from my Slice (c). I added some cute 4th of July stuff from Ann's stash (thanks again, Ann). They are from Oriental Trading.

Layout #18- American Sparkle(2)

Layout #19 "Scenic Byways" Not sure about this paper either. Borrowed some stamps from Ann and leaf punch outs.

Layout #20 "7 Things TO Celebrate. CTMH Paper- Good Times. I also used the Level 2 "My Stickease" from the same set. Cut Out letters with Slice Machine, Noteworthy Card.

Layout #21- "I Love Grandma" Here is my MIL. CTMH Paper- "Perfect Day" Level 2 "My Stickease" used as well as the new CTMH Rub Ons, CTMH Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon.

Heather's #14

So this is Layout number 14. It is CTMH Paper. Can't remember the name of the paper but it is from last summer or the summer before. Some prima flowers, buttons. Simple, but just wanted to get it done.

Heather's Layout # 13

ok, so here is one of my first non- CTMH layouts. I scraplifted it from one of the scrapbooking magazines, Memory Makers, I think. So mostly it is scraps from my stash. Some CTMH. Gees I need to wipe the finger prints of of that photo! I wish I had added more color to the leaves, but I think I can go back and fix that with some markers.

I hand drew the tree, it came out ok, but I think I will try Ann's tree technique next time I make a tree. I had some leaf stamps from the $1 section at Target, Clock ones that I got from Archivers, and the owl was cut from my MM Slice Machine. I had to add some details for it though. I chose this picture because holding a sleeping little one is getting to be a bit of rarity this days with my youngest being 2. I put in some journaling to be pulled out from behind the photo. The title is also cut our with my Slice Machine.

Heather's Layout # 12

Here is number 12. I finally got a layout done from my daughter's Girl Scout (Daisy) Scout Book.

The Paper is Basic Grea, Figgy Puding and Bzzil Cardstock. I used the coordinating Stickers and some sparkle brads.

On the top picuture you can see what is a strip that can be pulled out for journaling and additional pictures. My daughter did the journaling on the second page, upper right hand side.

Heather's Layout #11

Here is layout number 11. It is made with the Making Memories Spellbound collection. I used the coordinating stamps, stickease. Rick rack is made at Ann's, you can buy some from her on ebay...but I have family connections =). I also cut out the pumpkins at her house, I think it was a sissix thing, I don't have one of those. I also use the MM Spellbound stamps, that I got on clearance at Target. I sort of hand drew the vines and leaves. I also used a few Close to My Heart Pewter brads. The layout is from the Close to My Heart Imagine Book. So obviously this was Halloween last year.

Heather's #10 Layout Part A

So here is a one pager. I have another one I am working on so, It will still even out to two pages. Just not meant to be together. Ok, So I have no idea what this paper is. Should have looked before I came downstairs. Anyhow, I do know I got it from Archivers the day after Thanksgiving in their bins of monthly kits. They were a great clearance. So here is DS #1 after his wolf den went to home depot and made an art easel.

Yeah!!!!!! I did it, I cropped it in Infranview. Now you don't have to see my feet looking down at it!
Ok, this is DS #1 and my DD's school recital for their one day a week school in Dec. We homeschool so they go to an options school for electives on Fridays. The Paper is the Making Memories Fa La La. I used my MM Slice to cut out the Noel. I use some sparkly stick ons and some Close to My Heart Liquid Glass on the page. It has the Coordinating FaLaLA flowers and Brads and some other flowers from Michaels. I also used a stamp with some CTMH Cranberry Ink.

Heather's 6, 7, and 8 Layouts

This one is Child #3's Birthday. It is the Basic Grey Paper (forgot what it is called). I used the Matching stamps and stickers that came with the pack. The buttons and waxy Flax is from Close to My Heart. I also used some Bazzil card stock.

This paper is the Making Memories Fa La La line, with coordinating flowers and some Prima Flowers. It is also the coordinating Brads. So it is Child #2 with Santa and all the kids on Page two.

Here is Child #3 who recently injured his eye pretty severely. The paper is some generic I got in the clearance at JoAnn's. I used my fabulous Slice Machine to cut out the stars and the Arrows.

All the layouts are from Close to My Heart's Imagine or Cherish Layout Books. I have yet to really venture beyond using their layout "formulas." They definitely are perfect for beginner scrapbookers and makes it very easy. Sort of like my comfort zone. Perhaps this next week I will attempt to lift a layout from somewhere else as I am probably light years away from designing my own.

Heather # 3 Layout

Ok, I haven't been able to figure out how to crop with that infranview, Ann. But here is number 3. I used a Making Memories Kit that I got on clearance the day after Thanksgiving from Archivers, I think it is called Winter. I cut out the 4 inch letter and the gingerbread boy from my Slice, with the Fa La La Cartridge. I even sewed on this layout. Not sure if you can tell that from the picture. My DS#'s name is blocked, but nothing really personal is in the journaling. Just wished I had remembered the red rick rack on the green strip on page one, but otherwise I am really pleased with it.

Heather's #2 Layout

Here is a simple layout for my oldest son's Rank Advancement. He earned his Bobcat and Tiger at the same time. I think I may redo the Advancement title as my hubby was using the main , and computer. I can't stand my handwriting. The Paper is the K&Co Cub Scout Pack. I used some misc brads, Coordinating Tiger Cub Stickers from K&Co, and lettering cut from my new MM Slice machine.

Ok, once again, let me reiterate my novice Scrapbooking abilities. Ann, you are going to have to show me how to take a better picture of my layouts. So I am trying to get caught up with 2008. Here is Child #4 and his first haircut last Jan. The paper is Close To My Heart, Rough and Tumble and then there are the Jolee's Stickers.
